Nothing Sweeter Than You...

I've decided that the best way to perfect my banners is to practice by creating banners for other people.

A girl that I went to high-school with has opened her own cupcake making business. I totally commend her for her efforts since she's a stay-at-home mom to her three kids.

When I presented her with the banner (which I made as a surprise), I had offered to change the banner and/or alter it to any style which suits her fancy.

As much as she loved the banner she decided she wanted something less busy and much more plain.

Since the customer is always right and this was being placed on HER website I was willing to change anything she wanted.

This was the end result that she was happy with...

Amy, I wish you all the best with your business :)

For anyone who is looking to possibly order cupcakes I strongly suggest you check out her site Nothing Sweeter Than You.

Custom Banner

Last night I was able to create and upload my first custom banner.

I really had no intention of making the banner fancy or having it be my final banner. All I really wanted was to get rid of the ugly default blogger banner. I hate that thing. I've wanted to change the banner on this site and my other blog (which I don't list here; its anonymously written) since the beginning but I didn't have clue where to get started.

I totally have to thank Ree from thepioneerwoman.com. If you're looking for some great photoshop tutorials and tricks I suggest looking there till I can get some up. I used Ree's banner tutorial to get me started on making the first banner. I'm waiting for the second part to make a better banner. I know you're busy Ree...but hurry up!

Liberty Montage

This picture I decided to play around with just for fun. I was having a heck of a time toning down the blues but in the end I was pleasantly surprised. The blue ends up bringing out a lot of the character. I never liked the seaweed green anyway.

I'm happy with the way I was able to bring out the fine detail within the inside of the tower. Even the weather staining brings out the old charm.

What started out as, a for fun photo, it turned out to be one I'm really happy with.

Cutie

I know it's been awhile. But with the birth of my daughter my life's been a bit hectic. Sooner or later this site is gonna have some baby pics up since its something that I'd love to specialize in.

Here is a portrait I did of Wendy's (a neighbour) dog, Cutie.

I think this dog has the most gorgeous eyes so I tried to get them to stand out as much as possible.

Orange Rose

These are roses that my hubby gave me. The original picture was nice on its own but I thought it could use a little sprucing up. After intensifying the colours, sharpening the image and removing the small blue reflection spot; I cropped it and stuck it on a montage.

Not too bad if I do say so myself...

The Bridge

This photo has taken me the longest to finish....3 hours of editing.

See, I have this really bad habit of not saving my work as its progressing. I only seem to save when I've completed the photo, which I'm slowly starting and trying to change. I've gotten used to saving the photos when they are layers now but probably not as often as I should.

Coloured Branch

I've always been a pretty avid photographer and its been one of my hobbies for many years. I've decided that its about time I start to showcase my photos for others to see. My hope is that there will be at least one person out there that I inspire and will enjoying viewing my work.

On occassion I'd like to be able to possibly give out some photoshop tips or tutorials.

Till then I hope you enjoy my work in progress. :)
